Changchun is the cradle of China’s optoelectronic industry. Under the leadership of outstanding scientists such as Wang Daheng, known as the “Father of Chinese Optics,” and Jiang Zhuying, the “Star of Optics,” Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences —China’s first research institution in the field of optics—was established here. It has achieved numerous “firsts in China” and made outstanding contributions to major national engineering projects. In recent years, Changchun has prioritized the optoelectronic information industry as a strategic emerging sector, focusing on five key areas: “chips, optics, satellites, automobiles, and networks.” The city is accelerating the clustering of optoelectronic information industries and striving to build a powerful engine for high-quality development. As a vital component of Changchun’s optoelectronic information industry development, the Changchun International Optoelectronic Exposition 2024 was successfully held, featuring an exhibition area of over 70,000 square meters. A total of 675 enterprises from six countries, including China, the United States, Germany, and the Netherlands, and spanning 13 industrial sectors participated in the expo, including 118 leading companies. The event hosted 18 academician experts, 43 distinguished international guests, and organized 35 high-level academic conferences and parallel events, including the International Light Conference. Notably, 91 key projects were signed, totaling 20.6 billion yuan in investment. Media coverage reached nearly 20,000 reports, with total views exceeding 170 million.
The Changchun International Optoelectronic Exposition 2025 · International Light Conference will be held from June 10 to 13, 2025, at the Changchun Northeast Asia International Expo Center. Under the theme “Optoelectronics Leads the Way, Forging a New Quality Future”, this edition of the expo will focus on six major optoelectronic information industry clusters: “Semiconductors and High-End Manufacturing,” “Satellite Applications and Low-Altitude Economy,” “Optoelectronic Materials and Displays,” “Optoelectronic Sensing and Instruments,” “Laser Technology and Applications,” and “Automotive Electronics.” A total of 15 exhibition zones will be designated for displays. Over 50 parallel conferences and events will be organized, including the Third Meeting of the Changchun Optoelectronic Information Industry Expert Committee, the 2025 Changchun International Optoelectronic Expo Opening Ceremony, the 2025 International Light Conference, the 2025 Chinese Optical Society Academic Conference, and the Third Optoelectronics Exchange Fair of Changchun University of Science and Technology. This expo will spotlight cutting-edge trends and the latest products in optoelectronics, showcasing scientific and technological innovations in the field. It aims to establish new platforms for industry-academia-research integration through diverse formats, channels, and scenarios. By vigorously promoting the deep integration of scientific innovation and industrial innovation, the event seeks to cultivate and develop new quality productive forces, providing technological support for the high-quality development of China’s optoelectronic information industry.
